What exactly do you mean?
If you want the thermostat to open sooner you need to put in a different t-stat (ie. 160*).
If you mean altering the fans to come on at lower temps, you need to use some sort of programer, such as LS1 Edit.

He means modifying the stock thermostat to open at a lower temp (more trouble but cheaper than buying one.) It requires dissasembly and shimming I believe. I don't know the details.

The thermostat comes apart in 2 seconds flat (twist the inside part 90 degrees);
I want to find out what sized shims/washers give specific opening temps.

I believe this how-to resides on some place like
ls1info.com. There is no "recipe" I've seen but
you might be able to dope out the right shim from
what is there. Some folks mention using a BB and
this is probably not far off the mark.
