Default HEADER INSTALL NOW BIG PROBLEM, Electrical

Ok i just installed some pacesetter long tube headers and replaced all the spark plugs and wires and now i am having trouble. The car seems to want to stall when it is in drive and idleing. it boggs down to about 300 rpm and revs its self back up to about 500-600rpm. When i accelerate normally when it is doing this it almost stalls out. Also it shifts hard as hell. I have checked the header bolts and i got new o2 sensors and o2 extensions. could it be a spark plug issue what should i do.

Make sure your spark plug wires are in all the way.

you have cracked spark plugs and you didnt gap them, your front o2 sensors are probably plugged into the rear harness or the wires are burnt through, maybe a few vacumn leaks, and you adjusted your idle.

you should of just paid me to put them on

check the wiring on the pass side of the engine. It runs right down the frame rail and gets burned up pretty easy on new header swaps. It is in line with where the dipstick is.

yeah once i turned my car on and it ran like crap, almost died, and i realized a ground for my drivers side bank of cylinders wasnt connected (i think it ran through the ECT sensor right above the front drivers exhaust port. needless to say, replaced the ECT sensor and all was good (or i found the ground, i cant remember which)

Sounds like either a bad o2 or maybe you have one of the fronts plugged into the rear harness. Are you getting a flashing SES when this happens? That would indicate a misfire and would point to spark plugs/wires either being loose or broken.

i think he fixed his problems i went over for a lil while to help. He didnt have the spark plug wires pushed on the coil packs all the way, had one cracked spark plug, and all his spark plugs were gapped at .35. Should be running better now
