I have loudmouth 1 and just installed my kooks 1 7/8" longtubes with off road y and its loud as HELL at wide open throttle but i love it so much and i get compliments on it all the time

 

I have the LM1 with LT's and it's extremely loud...I love the sound though.

 

Yeah me to i just got the longtubes on today and cant be happier

 

i would go with the lm2 i got it with pacestters lt's and it sounds great..

 

when i had the lm1 + headers i had bad rasp, but when i put the borla xr1 on it sounded better.
im looking for a new setup so that why im asking about the true duals.
if true duals are louder than my lm1 and headers than i dont think ill go that route. haha

Btw, I have a catted Y with my LM1 and LT's. That probably gets rid of most of the rasp. Here's a video of the setup on my car...

True duals ARE NOT loud. At all. True duals are no louder than a y-pipe setup. True duals just have a reputation for being loud on F-body's because there isn't any room for large mufflers unless you get a really expensive custom job done. If you use bullets or sweet thunders, it doesn't matter if you have true duals or a y-pipe. Both will be loud.

Stock Mustangs have true duals.

Stock GTO's have true duals.

Stock Corvettes have true duals.

Are any of them loud? They're quiet as air.

If you make true duals with Loudmouth resonators, it'll be just about as loud as a y-pipe setup with a Loudmouth. Maybe a tad louder due to more efficient exhaust, but hardly noticeable.

Sorry, I just hate it when people say, "What's louder? True duals or catback X?"

Well...what mufflers are you going to use? That's going to dictate how loud it is. If you get a Loudmouth I, it's going to be louder than true duals with spiral flows. The true duals may SEEM louder if you get them dumped. Dump your Loudmouth, then. You'll see it's louder.

 

I think you have it backwards there bud. LM1 sounds INCREDIBLE at WOT, like Nascar, but kind of sounds like *** just puttin around town in the lower RPMs.

buddy of mine has td's dumped with moroso spiral flows, and my car is alot louder thn his, but his sounds nicer, his set-up isnt loud, but it sure is deep as hell sounding, i think it sounds good,as far as lm goes, i think the lm2 sounds better imo... im not a big fan of all the crackling and popping.. etc tht the loudmouth makes

 

Listen to mine in sig. TSP true duals with bullets dumped oh and they are far louder than anything other than open headers.

i have true duals with dynomax bullets and h/c...i know a few people with loudmouth and all of their cars are much louder then mine especially the people that are cammed and have loudmouth. My car sounds much deeper as well and is only real loud at wot.

 

but sounds 10x better....louder is not always better

 

If you like loud and raspy LM1 is going to be that for sure.
I have it on my TA with tuned LT's cats, ypipe and I like it. It is not a DD but when I do drive it I enjoy it.
Listen to some clips of cars that have what you either have or plan on having.
This thread has been repeated sooooo many times and every time your going to get the same answer....... The majority of people dont like lt's ory or hf cats and lm1.

When this video was taken the LT's, cats, ypipe, LM1 were all that were on the car. other wise it was stock down to the paper air filter.

LT's, H-pipe, Flowmaster Super 44's dumped. That's what i would go with if i had extra cash laying around. MY buddy had super 44's through an X-pipe dumped on hit LT1 and his **** sounded MEAN!!

 

I just went from stock manifolds/Y with LM-1 to LT'S and TSP true duals. I did a before and after video of the swap. you can use the vid i quoted as comparision as my car is also otherwise stock in the vid.
