Default 93-02 V8 NGK TR55-IX Spark Plugs

What's the big difference between the NGK TR55-IX and the NGK TR55?

besides 25 bucks?

Longer lasting better spark? any personal experience with both?

I ask because I am doing headers next week and want to swap the plugs while I'm at it.

Thanks

Longer lasting? Yes.
But will they last longer than the 4 extra sets of the better performing TR55s that you could buy for the same amount of money? No. (The extra skinned knuckles are included for free of course. )

Better spark? In most applications, no.

I vote TR55 copper for most stock cubic inch, naturally aspirated LSx motors.

How do the coppers perform better, I'd imagine it would be about the same on NA apps but wasn't sure.

And do you guys mark the plugs when you install them so the open end is facing the combustion chamber? Supposedly you get a almost insignificantly better combustion this way. (so the open end of the plug is facing "up" towards the valves)

Thanks

I believe Copper is the best for conducting electricity and so when you add that in and the fact the plugs are a lot less it becomes a better value.
