man it looks like i need a water temp gauge and quick. i was doing a fast photoshoot with the car at idle and my needle rose to the "0" in 210.... I have never seen it get that hot before.. I also just added a home made version of FTRA so that might of had soemthing to do with it. Wonder how hot my car really got???????

It doesnt help that it is about 90* with 80% humidity

If it was that hot, it was probably up around 230-ish or so (I've seen mine do that before), and I can assure you, if you have something blocking the condenser/radiator like a homemade FTRA of any type, it won't help that issue. That's exactly why I have an FTRA sitting in my closet and not in my car.

i just keep watching the needle all the way home. Was making sure my 'Check Gauges' light did not come on... My car temp did not lower that much on the way home. i will need to see if i need to add some water to the radiator

The full sweep gauges are supposed to be more accurate, but I could not tell you why. If you plan on keeping the interior lighting red in the car you should look at the ES series gauge from Autometer. they come in the right size and have a black face with white numbers and red back light, I think they look awesome

The top two gauges in the above pic are short sweep, and the bottom is a full sweep. It is really that simple...full sweep gives the needle more travel to display the information you want. Why are they more expensive? I have no idea...but FWIW, I have all full sweep gauges in my hoopty.
