Hooker Headers AIR Connection popped off on the freeway... On my way to work, had to get towed home. I am pretty pissed. Guess we are gonna see how Holley's / Hookers customer service is. Headers were purchased 12-2-02 and were Jet Hot Coated.

Re: Hooker Headers AIR Connection popped off on the freeway... Dude i am very sorry but that is rediculous. I had heard that hookers had bad welds but that diserves a Grade A *** beating. They better cover the cost of having them removed and reinstalled for the repairs.

Re: Hooker Headers AIR Connection popped off on the freeway... I've seen/heard of that happening on several different cars with several different header brands. Sorry to hear about your problems, but be sure to give them a chance to make things right before beating them up too much.

note how the hole in the primary has jagged edges and no weld to be seen....then look at the AIR tube....all the weld (and part of the primary) is still on it...

I will say, when I got my hookers, I had them before the '02 versions came out, and cut off the air crap and welded the holes up, then coated.. well anyway, after cutting off the air tubes, and looking in the hole, it looked like they just ripped a hole in the header tube.. not drilled, or cut.. like someone air hammered a hole in and welded on the tube.. so.. But mine are still fine now.. just some info.

If you get stuck on some warranty hitch, I would point out that this is a major manufacturing flaw that could cause serious harm or even death as a fire hazzard, and that you can provide the names of several other people that have had the same thing happen to.
I would say you will be writing to a major magazing about this problem that you and others have experienced and how hooker responded to this situation. I've done that a few times when a manufacturer refused to ack a defective product.
You do have a good reason to shitcan the air system now though

Re: Hooker Headers AIR Connection popped off on the freeway... My car did the same the on the same side i just stuck it back on there and got the welder out. as a quick fix. But i no longer have them on my car becuse i thank the have poor welds. I would check your y pipe if you have a hooker to. The welds right at the y pipe were cracking on my car to.
