Question fast 90/90 vs ls6

What is the difference between these 2 intakes in rwhp gain?? As I started a thread on here regarding my h/c setup but not sure if the fast would be the better choice to reach my goal of 450rwhp..

I'm asking since I can get a good deal on a ls6 intake for a good price with the TB also.

thanks

If you want 450 rwhp then a Fast 90/90, 85mm maf, and a good tune, in addition to a mildly big cam and a good set of heads is the way to go. Do a search and you'll find plenty of NA set ups putting down that power.

yea everything but a big cam is the route I'm going. I figured the fast was better for those numbers but wanted to be sure.

a fast is a good way to go but for that kind of money you could get heads...and thats always a bonus

this is my initial thread I started about my setup... I'm just debating on the intake 90 or ls6 & what cam I want to go with. I sent predator z a PM but no response yet for a cam recommendation

anyway I still have time and in no rush...

What is the difference in hp on these intakes with a full tune and mods I listed.. approx???

i noticed a big difference between the Fast and the LS6 intake. I think you get about 10-15 more hp from the fast. Its ok but for the price at almost 1100 there are other things you can get to get that hp from. Considering the LS6 intake is only about 300 used. So if youre on a budget the ls6 isnt bad either way. & if you dont have heads or good ones at least you wont be doing yourself any good with that intake. Then figure youre going to have to add another about 450 for a TB then about another 200 for a MAF. see where im goin.

id say get a ls6 and ported tb,then look at a nice set of roller rockers and that should get you damn close...or say screw the RR and put you a small shot on it,but i really cant see spending that much for a 90/90 but thats just me..you would probably be over with the 90/90 and it does look good..so if you want looks and to be a for sure 450 i guess go with the 90/90 but like i said it isnt worth the extra 10 to 15 hp to me...

I can get a good deal for a ls6 intake w/ tb but the seller said he had used a n2o dry shot. Is this bad for the intake depending how long he's been running the shot??

I don't see why a dry shot would hurt the intake. I ran a dry shot once and it would leave a freeze track where the nitrous sprayedbut I can't see why that would affect the intake.

I was a little disapointed with my FAST I had an LS6 ready to go on with my H/C swap and expected 415 or so with it. A deal came up on this 90/90 and I thought it would get me around 430 but you can see what I made. On a bigger cube setup or max effort 346 where you are gonna really spin is where i think the FAST shines. Throttle response is awesome though It's ok cause it''ll pay off when I go 383 or 402

The fast is good for about 15-20 HP on most decent size cam bolt on cars. like in GMHPT they went from 390 to 412 with the swap. I didn't get my car dynoed before I sold my ls6, but after the 92/92 ported I got up to 412/hp with cam only. So you got to weigh is the 1000 extra bucks worth it? If your getting heads later..I would say YES. If not then it depends. It was my cars bday and I wanted to try one and all its all its not bad. So its all about what your needs/wants and if 15-20HP now is worth 1000 bucks. It's hard a boat and lot of people are in one. Do you got UD pulley its good for about 6HP on the dyno.
