Default difference between 98 and 2001 radiator

Is there a difference between a 98 radiator and 2001 radiator? GM has different part numbers for them but they dont know what the difference is. The radiator needs to work for a 98 chassie but for a 2001 motor. Thanks

The 98 will have a provision for the low coolant sensor to plug into. The 01 will not. An A4 radiator for all years will have the built in tranny cooler where the M6 will not. There should be 4 different radiators for these cars.

98-99 A4
98-99 M6
00-02 A4
00-02 M6

The first 2 will have the hole for the sensor.
The last will not. Physical size should all be the same.

I have a 98 Camaro and have a 2002 Radiator in it. The only difference is the sensor which of course I do not have mine plugged in as there's nowhere to plug it in and I do not have a light of any kind coming on showing it not being connected so with that being said, you can run any year radiator as long as you get the M6 for the M6 and the A4 for the A4.

Thanks that helped alot. I hate when the dealership doesnt know what they are talking about.
98-00m6 same part number
98-00a4 same part number
01-02m6 same part number
01-02a4 same part number

I ended up getting the 98 radiator and the sensor to plug the hole for $240. The 01-02 model radiator cost $346. I was getting so pissed that the radiator with the sensor cost less.
