I vote for a magnaflow catback with a cutout in the I-pipe.

Hooker will most definitely outflow Flowmaster any day of the week. If the Hooker is in good shape, I say go for it. Do a search and you will find several dyno tests in which people have seen only a 5hp or less difference between a Hooker muffler and an open cutout. The Hooker is a very fee flowing system with a great muscular sound. You cant go wrong. I say grab it!!

Im not sure where the Magnaflow suggestions came from since it has no part of your question, but Magnaflow is also a great system for the money, and its also stainless steel, where as Hooker is aluminized steel. This honestly really isnt a big deal as the Hooker will last the life of your car, but the stainless sure does look sexy underneath your car

Hooker is very quiet if you look a little rumble in the cam. About equal to a stock sounding exhaust. I owned one and sold the muffler for 50.00 bucks. I have a LMII now.

why not do the mods and then swap mufflers if you think it's so restrictive. i love the sound of the 80 series flowmaster muffler on my ta. just installed a mac ory and i fell in love with it. i had a stalled true dual car with dumped 4x9 magnaflows before. it sounded great, but quickly got obnoxious. this m6 with the flowmaster sounds sexy as hell. car trapped 109 with a lid and weld in muffler only. i hope to be over 110 and mid 12s with the ory, tune and ls6 intake...on a dr of course.

definitely take the hooker catback over the flowmaster!! the hooker catback might be a little quiet, but it sounds pretty friggin mean with longtues and off road y pipe. i think it has a more deeper rumble than magnaflow. get the hooker catback!!!

yeah I'm getting all of it done at that same time pretty much I'm trying to hit 400rwhp and I'm trying to get every little bit. On sat I ordered tsp 228r cam package,85mm Tb, underdrive pully, stall and all the the little odds and ends like ls6 oil pump timing chain etc I dont to be screwing my self with restrictive exhaust with a good dyno tune I am thinking I can hit 400 if not damn close

Definitely upgrade to the Hooker or Magnaflow. I had a flowmaster and loved the way it sounded but changed it to Magnaflow to squeeze some more HP. An old buddy had a Hooker muffler and he like it over his Flowmaster. Can't go wrong. Or do a cutout and be done it. I have one too.

GET RID OF THE FLOWDISASTER!!!! Almost flow as bad as stock. But a cutout+flowmaster sounds really good! plus your getting the most hp. heres what mine sound like from inside the car

Do the cutout, leave the flowmaster IMO. I had a thread on here where I posted a dyno sheet putting down 398rwhp thru the Flowmaster 80 and then dynoed 406rwhp w/ the cutout open. It must not flow as bad as people say if I only gained 8rwhp with the cutout open. That 8hp was all top end power though. I dont care what muffler somebody runs, you will gain at least 3-5 hp thru the cutout.

I have LT's + ORY + QTEC + 80 Flowmaster and I and lots of people I know, all say it sounds great. The HOOKER will be quiet...[although, that is a good thing sometimes. HAHAHA.!!! ]

I was hoping you saw my numbers. No I have a pretty basic tune, just a guy that knew what he was doing. Numbers were on a dynojet. He's a member on here, but he lives in TN. He uses EFI live, basically I just advanced my timing to 24* on a safe tune. I have a few more things, but its little things. I have an 02, so i have the ls6 stuff. My complete mod list is ebay headers, ORY, fernco, p&p TB (gained 6rwhp just from doing this) tb bypass, lid, FTRA, k&n, !AIR, TR55's, MSD Wires, flowmasters, cutout, poly trans and motor mounts, and some heavy TTII's(Im sure if i switched the stock ones back on, Id dyno higher)
