But am I wrong in this assumption?
I would go with coating inside and out instead of wrap, but your point on the O2 sensor is valid.

I installed the headers last night but ran out of time for the y-pipe, The headers have very clean welds, thick flanges, the collectors are very nice. No fitment issues so far, I will let everyone know tonight after I finish the installing the y-pipe.

The things you learn and thanks for sharing. I don't think 3XX SS is that far off from keeping temps down in the engine bay compared to coatings. IMO that would tell me it is keeping the heat contained and sending it down stream.

The temp comparisons I have seen I believe were between a mild steel header uncoated and one that was coated. If they compared uncoated 3XX SS and a coated version I don't think there would be much of a difference.

Well I know people who have not wrapped and then had to have their car retuend a bit for them. But when i come on here people seem to think that it is not needed.

The thing i am afraid of is i put them on without wrap and then it doesnt run right and i have to dump money into a tune and then just have to tuned back in two years for smog.

So I am thinking that if i wrap them while dry and then coat them with a high temp ceramic engine paint then that will keep the heat in and the paint will keep any moisture or oil from collecting on the wraping and rusting or starting a fire. Does that sound like a pretty decent decision?

Anyone get any good install pics? I saw the ones in the other thread showing ground clearance, but I want to see some underhood shots.
