Default Looking to paint my 6.0 408 iron block temp of paint..

I was going to just use the 500 degree duplicolor paint but now wondering since my aps twins will be sitting right next to the block. They have heat shields but don't think have any on the block side.

Is the 500 sufficient or should I go to the 1200 high temp version. The 500 is gloss black the 1200 is just think flat black not a huge deal but kinda of wanted to use the gloss black. Or they have 1500 vht paint also it looks to be flat black.

Also should I ceramic coat the aps exhaust manifolds or will that same 1200 or 1500 paint hold up on there?

i used VHT high heat caliper paint (for the rotor hats) and it was gloss black even though the cap
looked flat black...not sure of the temp rating but maybe it's an option.

I painted MY engine bay with the VHT high temp Cliper paint also and it was pretty glossy. I will get a pic for you today if you would like to see the difference

POR 15 has a paint that will hold up**. Check it out here, a little costly but some of the best paint.

The 500 duplicolor works fine on the block. POR requires really good prep and I'm not sure what heat it can handle.

super sneaky my buddy did that 6.0 iron block i think he just used some cheapo duplicolor or whatever autozone carries, and it looks lke the color of the aluminum heads, no one has yet to figure it out, its also got an mti stealth2 cam so its really on the low down, everyone thinks its a "LS6 CAM"
