A/C Problems, anyone ever deal with this?
Not sure if this is the right section, but here goes...
I don't use my A/C much except for defrost. The other day I had turned it on and it worked fine, then I turned it off for a few minutes and then back on again. Within a minute or two it was blowing VERY hot air, so I shut it off. A day later I turned it on and it blew cold air for about a minute and then got hot again.
So here is what has been done/checked...
- The compressor is working, it kicks on when the A/C is turned on.
- The freon is charged, had it checked at the shop, good pressure and all.
- The resivoir and A/C lines under the hood are getting cold, telling me that everything there is working properly.
-
Is there a servo/switch or something in the dash that could be causing this? Does Autotap have any climate control options that I can check? Anyone with ANY idea's? TIA.

Sounds like you could have a vacuum leak in your control tubing. This would allow the damper to swing and push the air through your heating coil.
