Going to QTP's Or Kooks steped headers will give a gain. Not too much on stock internals. More with heads cam and even more with some +cubes.

And as for any header except QTP or Kooks being better then SLP's I don't believe it.

OK.. first of all.. if you seriously think that car will be worth anything as a collector edition anytime soon, you're nuts

You will have to keep it in the garage for at least 30 years before it even has an inkling of collectability. Now, that being said, it is worth a little more than a plain WS6 but not that much. So, I say, mod it drive it enjoy it. People who buy brand new cars with the intention of making money off of it are just silly IMO. It takes so much dedication and time in the end you'll be wondering what you were thinking. However, if you enjoy the car now and have it to "restore" in 25-30 years you'll feel much better about it.

I have a 30th Anniversary TA and at first I was all about the not driving not modding and I wouldn't even take the Ttops out. Now I have all the things you are thinking about and then some. I love my car and it's so much fun going to the track and turn heads (Chick in a loud 12sec LS1 usually does it ) Of course I have kept all of my stock parts down to the brake rotors. I won't do any FI or any mods that require any cutting or permanent changes. Everything has to be easily put back to stock.

So in conclusion, ( finally right? ) I say do what your heart tells you that you will enjoy most. That's really why you bought the car right? To enjoy it?

Over 200,000 F-Bods were made between 1998-2002.

None of these cars will ever appreciate 1 friggin dime.

Some will only hold their crappy value better than others, that's it.

The original Muscle cars that are collectible usually have a certain engine or drivetrain that made them collectible. They were also very, very low production numbers.

Not friggin stickers or some crappy YELLOW.

Put your $$$ in a stock index mutual fund, and you'll thank FUTURESTRADER in 30 years. :worship:

our cars are meant to enjoy not to worry about what its worth to its next owner.mod it man.these cars were meant to make us HP not money.

If I were you, id tub that CE TA and put some 18x13s under those fenders. These cars hold more sentimental value than monetary value.

What's funny is that people buy cars that MAY become collectible and worry from day one that they need to preserve them. The fact is, 95% don't own the car in ten years anyway so it's a moot point. Drive the car, mod the car, enjoy the car. There's a great chance you won't even own the car in 30-40 years when it actually becomes collectible.

To the original poster there have been several posts of people switching from SLP to another brand of header and gaining hp/tq. To the guy worried about cutting why not just get some hooker headers and a y then?

I wouldn't change out your SLPs. That is a lot of money and work even if you do pick up a little extra HP. So if you are happy with your SLPs, I say keep them. If you want 10 more hp, buy a ported TB and pulley.

I agree with mangus, get an aftermarket catback if you don't want to cut the stock I pipe.

I have SLP lt's and very pleased them. No issues here with fitment and quality. Very well made compared to some of the other headers put out today. I doubt the HP+TQ gain would be worth the extra cash. But if you have the money why not. Until I hear less "talk" about my friend has brand "A" LT headers and my other friend has brand "B" LT headers and they are better "blah" "blah" "blah" What would really help out is putting up more than one dyno graph and some 1/4 times to back up all these statements saying one set of headers is better than the other. I just see more talk than numbers. That reminds me, I have no numbers to put up yet. :p

well I will have numbers in 2 weeks my kooks step headers will be here and in by then. I am going from SLP's so you will know how good kooks really are. Since most kooks swapa are coming from mac's the comparison is not that good but I have seen 40rwhp from mac's to kooks swap.

I will keep you posted.

So what brand will be the best in October? November? December? It's a "he said, she said" arguement. You may buy the "best" headers ever made, but have another modification elsewhere on the car that is hurting performance or vise versa....
