Default What Y-Pipe with E-Bay Headers???

I would like a SS Y-Pipe for these but do not know what would fit. Ideally I would like to use the QTP Y-pipe. Anyone try anything?

either you have to come across a rare XS y pipe, or have a custom one made. Im in the process of taking off my custom to put on the XS...need one that tucks up better

Just go custom. Don't waste your time looking for a y pipe that's going to fit Ebay headers.

I have one that I made for my car with the XS headers and it has the Flowmaster merge but its not stainless but neither is the QTP. I drove the car to work a couple of days but other than that its still new. Mine has the 3.5" outlet on the merge. It then goes in to a 3.5" cutout and then has a Flowmaster reducer from 3.5" down to 3" to mate up to a standard catback.

Im really not trying to sell it but I may be getting rid of my XS headers and if I do then I will have to make another y pipe anyway. About 225 shipped is what it would take to get it.

If you want some pics I can take some tomorrow.

Why would someone sell a set of headers without a Y to go with them?

What ebay headers? The old XS headers from ebay or the junk that's selling for under $200 now? If it's the $200 ebay headers, they're not XS, so if you buy an XS y-pipe, it won't even fit. You have absolutely no choice but to go custom y-pipe because there are so many different kinds of ebay headers out there, you're likely to get the wrong ebay y-pipe with the wrong ebay headers.

This is exactly why I don't buy anything over $5 off of ebay. No customer support, no brand names, no nothing. Doing business over ebay is like buying expensive car parts at a Gypsy yardsale. No thank you, not worth the aggravation.

^^^^^^

The old "XS" headers and some of the current Ebay headers are the same.

Have you owned either Choco?

I have owned the XS headers and now have some Ebay headers(Purchased 3 months ago). Guess what Choco.......they are the same.

So if some of you guys consider Ebay headers junk then I guess XS headers are also junk.

I bought a set of used XS headers which were cut short at the collectors and I was still able to get a TSP y-pipe to mount up. I added dual cats to it to stay somewhat legal here in NJ but you should be able to use the XS y-pipe or the TSP or probably even the Pacesettery y-pipe. Just plan on having to make some slight adjustments to get it to line up the way you like.

The ebay headers that are somewhat popular right now are 304 stainless steel. XS headers were always 321 stainless steel. They are NOT the same headers. The OP is completely unspecific about WHAT ebay headers we're talking about. You completely fail to realize this as there are more than one style of ebay stainless steel headers.

SO the only difference is the grade of steel it is.....big deal. Still the same design.

You sir fail because you have not owned either header and are making dumb assumptions.

I don't know why people make a big deal about XS headers anyways. They are Ebay headers, before Carl started selling them on here they were getting sold on Ebay(where I bought mine from). So because a regular Joe became a sponsor and started selling them on here they suddenly became better then any other Ebay header?

There are a few designs on e-bay right now. I did not want to post a link to avoid moderator shutdown. The ones I speak of are indeed the $200 ones with the 1-3/4" primaries and 3" collectors. I guess I should have stated my thread as if there are any universal Y-pipes out there. There can not be that much of a difference. I can see some adjustments may be needed. I would need a multi-piece unit I supose so I can make adjustments.

Actually Choco is right. Those ones on Ebay going for $200 and under are not the same as XS headers. Same design yes, but not the same. I wouldn't gamble with em and yes I have the ole Ebay XS headers.

They are the same in the same way that other header designs are shared between different manufacturers. They are the same design and yes the other y pipes will fit. Pacesetter y pipe will fit them too. I have already interchanged different y pipes with them.

I was told the TSP y pipe would fit, didn't even come close. Pacesetters and XS are not the same design. Hooker, Jet Hot, Flowtech, and Edelbrock are.

Ok, the ory that I made for my xs headers fit the 2000 Z28 in my driveway right now with Flowtechs. All I had to do was remove the flange on the flowtechs.

Ya I can see how that would work but Pacesetters are completely different.
