LS1 Cams

I read somewhere that the 98-00 ls1 cams were bigger than the 00-02 cams. is this true?

That is correct. They also had the LS1 intake which doesn't flow as well as the LS6 intake on the '01 and '02 models so the performance is the same.

but the heads sucked in 98-99 and i believe it was that in 00 01 and 02 they changed to a more aggressive head, smaller cam and ls6??? thus the reason why 01 and 02s make more power due to a cam swap

so should i use the cam out of my 99 motor instead of the one from the 02 motor i bought?

really not worth the effort to change it, only a small difference, if you're going to make a change, go aftermarket

yep....besides the 04 ls1 cam was the biggest of them all, lol
