Default stock internal hp limit!

What is the max rpm limit for a stock internal ls1 2000 camaro

I spin it to 6400 now and it seems to be taking the punishment.

My plan is to get a bigger cam with 6800 rpm power band and i need to know if the stock internals are up to the task.

Right now i have a 224 .560 114 cam, ls6 heads( home ported),full bolt-ons,dual valve springs,and a high flow high pressure oil pump

Am i gonna have to buy all forged internals.

If it is a 2000 I wouldn't take it past 6500 the rod bolts are the weak link. I have a few times but I try to avoid it and shift aroud 64-6500. What are you really going to gain from 2-300 rpm its not worth a motor.

I bet you could spin it to like 8000 if you really wanted too. haha j/k.

but so ABQ i think hit it on the head, the cam will give you more of a gain than just spinning it higher. and great point on the rod bolt thing
