whats involved with putting a LQ4 engine where a ls1 was?

Default whats involved with putting a LQ4 engine where a ls1 was?

thinking about building a lq motor up since i know there pretty much idential to a ls1 motor besides cast to aluminum block.. but can i take my heads and intake from my ls1 and it will bolt right on and pretty much give me a ls1 with a cast block??

please correct me if i am wrong?

You are correct about the heads and intake bolting on. You will need to drill and tap one of the holes for the alternator bracket and relocate where the ground bolts to the block on the passengers side b/c there is no boss for it on the iron block. It's pretty much a direct swap other than that.

I searched and couldn't find it. What would be the weight difference from alum vs irom block
