Degreeing the cam
I installed my new cam in my 00 c5 without degreeing it.. its a comp cam. custom grind
228/232 on 112 .588/ .595 lift
Installed it dot to dot.. I know i should have degreed it but got carried away putting the car back together before thinking about it. maybe to many beers later lol... Am i leaving alot of h/p on the table without degreeing or should it be real close

Isn't it true that you'd need an adjustable timing gear to add any advance during the install? If you use the stock timing gears, wouldn't moving it a tooth from dot to dot be too much?
My understanding is that degreeing the cam just allows you to verify it was truly ground to specs, but you'd need an adjustable timing gear to adjust the advance.
