Default Quick cam help

So currently I am looking at one of two cams to install in my 01 SS.

First one is the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam 207/220 .571/.578

and the second Texas speed/Comp 220/220 .581/.581

Both with 114 LSA

I want to know what the difference will be between them since the intakes are different. I don't know much about cams so if anyone has any advice on this situation that would be awesome.

how much power are you looking to attain? those are both quite small cams..unless you are boosted or something at the bare minimum i would go with a 224/224 cam..tsp has a nice one, there are several others as well. let us know what you are looking to acheive out of it and we;ll be able to help you out more

30-40 rwhp. is what I would like, I just want to get over 400 rwhp for now, or at least as close as I can.

First of all - everyone is going to tell you those are baby cams, they all bash any cam smaller than 224/224

Second of all - they'll be right, if you are looking for 400+ rwhp, you'll need something alot bigger than that.

Third - you need to get headers before a cam.

Lastly, I hope you didn't buy the ls6 intake you have listed in your sig, as 01 cars came with it....

you should get headers first. Go with a 224/228 on 114 or something similar. Those cams arent going to get you near 400rwhp

I did not mean 400 rwhp with just a cam. And I would get headers but I can not afford them right now plus I know that you can run a cam with the stock bottom end. And no I did not buy the ls6 intake I know that it came with it. I am fully aware that at best ill get 30 rwph with just a cam that small. But I am open to the 224/224 I looked at that first, I just figured that it might kill my mpg.
