Does anyone know if the factory matches the piston *or* piston/rod assembly to a particular cylinder *or* crank journal?.*or* will they install in any cylinder? Ive inherited a short block that is ready to assemble.The only machine work was a finish hone.Unfortunately for me the pistons weren''t numbered when removed. What are my options? Engine is 03 5.3l

 

mic the cylinder walls and pistons to find which ones went where...that would be my guess
