deck plates?

NONE of the machine shops around here have deck plates for gen III/IV stuff. I've heard from a few folks that a SB Ford deck plate will work on the LS1, couldn't find much from the search feature. Is this true????

I think so. It looked like a LSx torque plate would've fit on my 302, so I don't see why it wouldn't be vise versa as long as the bolts have enough thread engagement in the deck.
