a few weeks ago i created a post asking what i might have done wrong while installing my cometic head gaskets because they ended up leaking really bad. you said asked
Did you verify the rivets cleared the heads (fell into a jacket)?
Did you install with the little holes in the front, large passages in the rear?
Did you re-install coolant sensor and rear passenger side plug
I really dont understand #2. I am looking at the gasket and dont know what you mean by larger / smaller holes. I attached a pic of the gasket ,so if you could elaborate, i would appreciate it. Im getting ready to reinstall them with copper gasket sealer and dont want to do it a third time, so any othe tips would be appreciated. thanks

hate to say it man, but when you put the gaskets on the car, it's pretty common sense which way they go.
one way will look right, the other the holes wont line up right.
but the picture above is correct. Just remember the corner with three holes (two coolant passages and one bolt hole) goes to the rear of the engine and you'll be fine.

nobody said it wasnt on right. I was just trying to find out what he meant just incase i was wrong. The problem is that i overpaid for some pos head gaskets that seem to have a problem sealing. Yet , the sponsors you are buying them from are more than happy to sell them to you with a smile on their faces. I have no doubt that they know that these gaskets suck, and have had sealing problems. Look up cometic gaskets and see for yourself. Now i have to do a complete reinstall of everything. My time must not be as valuable as theirs
the Cometics are more sensitive to the smoothness of the head/block surfaces than the OEM gaskets..make sure yo get all the old material off your heads/block..i used them on my old LS1 with no problems, but it's very critical you get the surfaces clean and smooth..
Even though it was answered above, here is what I meant. There was an article in one of the magazines that stated this was a common installation error, which is why I asked. I also used Hylomar spray on mine, haven't filled the coolant yet so I don't know how well mine are sealed.
