Ok guys! I'm doing a 370ci build over the winter and wanted to get some advice.

806's Ported and Polished (2.05/1.60)...

I was wanting to run 10.5-11.0:1 CR

I know I'll need to to check PTV clearance on a MS3/4, but I'm not dead set on either cam. The car currently has a two stage 300 shot total, and all supporting mods (LS6 intake). Let me know what you guys think about cam selection. I was thinking on the larger side with a 111/112 LSA.

 

i would go with the ms3, but if your going that big, why not get the trex v2. its a good nos cam.

 

I was thinking of the MS4, but after I built a friends motor using the MS4....EVERYONE locally started doing MS4 swaps! I'm concerned about clearance issues of course! I'm pretty sure I'll have issues going over 10.5:1 and using a cam that size. I've seen issues with both MS3/4 with people trying to use a .041 gaskets.

 

If you've got 4cc valve reliefs you should be able to run a pretty big *** cam before worrying about clearance.....

I built a NA 346ci for a friend using an MS4. The 806's had a clean up pass ran on them, and the PTV was around .080" (which is pretty close IMO). So ultimately you guys are saying custom grind, or MS3, and do 11.1:1 CR? What size custom cam? I ran a 253/261 644/644 in the 408ci I had....something in that range?
