2005 GTO cam into 2000 LS1?
I'm installing this engine into my very modified 1971 Land Rover. I'll be using the GM standalone ECM (F-body) and harness. The engine has a Corvette intake installed to eliminate the egr. What will I need to do if I install this GTO camshaft for extra hp and completely eliminate the egr system? Should I even do it?

I only considered the camshaft to gain some hp and to get the profile to truly eliminate the egr issues? You know, I don't know if it's a 6.0 cam. I'll have to look at the stampings and try to determine it. This is not for a high rpm application and I want to keep reasonable low rpm torque. It will see more offroading at low speeds than street performance. At only 2800 lbs I do expect this truck to move darn quick though.

Can't install LS2 cam into an LS1. It doesn't have the cam sensor markings that the LS1 uses. It's the same cam from the earlier (2001) LS6s, so you could just find a cheap one of those.

Of course you can! You just have to run the LS2 front cover with cam sensor, LS2 cam gear, and run the extension harness for said sensor!
