Default Heads, Cam and Injectors?

Stock LS1 injectors are 28#, correct?

With a 224R or 228R cam (haven't decided which one yet) and Ported 5.3L Heads, should I upgrade my injectors too?

heard you dont have to but an upgrade in fuel pump is always a good idea, and if you dont do injectors when you tune the car just check the duty cycle of the injectors if it to high like 90% or higher you might want to change them

IIRC you want your Full Duty cycle to be around 80%

1999 and 2000 yr LS1s have smaller 26# injectors. You can check that in the stickie FAQ -differences between years.I have a 1999 and am planning to upgrade to the SVO 30s when I do heads and cam soon.

2000's have 26.6lb units, all others are 28lb IIRC. Either way, with a set of LS6 heads and an F13 I was looking at well over 100% IDC, do yourself a favor and get some injectors, 36lb+ reccomended.

Maybe.. that's not a high end H/C kit, small-medium cam with budget heads.. you may not max out stock injectors seeing only around 420 rwhp.

My tuner told me the opposite with my mild cam and 243's. As long as I wasn't planning on nitrous the fuel pump would be fine for the moment. But the stock injectors would be on the edge so better to upgrade them when the tune was going to be changed for the new setup anyway.
