LS6 PCV Upgrade

LS6 PCV Upgrade
I just wanted to post up the results of my LS6 PCV mod, since I've just added the first quart of oil since then. The car has went 2100 miles on that quart; thats 1000 miles farther than before the mod. Still high oil consumption for a new car, but much better.

Re: LS6 PCV Upgrade
I did not cut my engine block to install the LS6 valley cover; rather, I cut out a 3 inch piece of the black plastic from under the valley cover....I then patched in a piece of copper tubing and sealed it off with silicone sealer...
I also am running a large catch can....
Works great!

Re: LS6 PCV Upgrade
My first inpressions was that the LS6 PCV did not work, But that was due to residual oil from my old system. Now I know now that the LS6 PCV system works much better over my old LS1 system! LS6 PCV + oil catch can works really well on my car.no more oil on the back of my throttle blade! I have about the same oil consumption as Cal now. Also dont use a air compressor filter for an oil catch can, you may think I't works but I't really doesn't work for ****. AIR COMPRESSOR FILTER.

Re: LS6 PCV Upgrade
When I did the PCV mod on my car, I noticed I was using MORE oil. I have a 2002 LS6 block. The oil consumption wasn't bad at all to begin with, but I wanted no oil at all in the intake. So, I switched over to the LS6 valley cover. Oil consumption practically doubled. Maybe mine was just a fluke, but IMO, it's not worth the swap. I would use some sort of catch can setup.
