Cost of a 382??? A buddy of mine is looking at doing a 382 stroker motor. Turn-key cost is about $13.5K. I know MTI is getting $20K for 422's just wondering how that price stacks up with others out there.
Re: Cost of a 382??? the "$20K" MTI price includes much more than just the 427ci engine. Thats all of the bolt-ons, installation labor, computer tuning, tranny upgrades, converter or clutch upgrade, etc... and a warranty. See here: http://www.motorsporttech.com/fbody_engine02.asp
Figure a 382ci stroker would cost around $10-11K installed at most shops, and an all-bore 382ci would be about a grand cheaper.

Re: Cost of a 382??? This is in a Z06 and included porting his LS6 heads, big nasty cam, a clutch upgrade, a 3.90 or 4.10 gear with hardened shaft, tuning, and a rollbar, etc... He already has headers and exhaust, so that wouldn't be in the cost of the package. But basically a 450-470 RWHP package...

Re: Cost of a 382??? ..that is a huge amount of cash for a stroker! ..can't you buy a new block, buy a rotating assembly and assemble a short block for under $5K? ...just add ported heads and a cam and you have a 383 stroker long block...

Add up the individual prices for each thing and then see what they are charging for install, assembly, and liability.
