Default Problem with yella terra install - 911 Help!

I have a '98 TA and I am on the last of the stages of my cam swap and heads install. The cam is an MTI X-1 Cam, And I have MMS stage II heads. The heads are milled .030, and I have 7.35 pushrods. I have installed the yella terra 1.7 rocker arms and it looks like they are hitting the valvecovers. Did I do anything wrong? Or with my combo am I going to have to get differant valvecovers.

Thanks

Scott

I recall someone mentioning that withe the 98 they had to "trim" the valvecover.

I dont know the extent to which they meant.

do a search. there are some photos around of the grind job that has to be done on the 98-99 valve covers.

Damn, mine have been in my 99 SS for a while now. Would you be able to tell if they were hitting the valve covers? My car did dyno prety low 350rwhp, for the mods that I got. I also didn't use the shims that came with the rocker arms. Any way that they aren't hitting?

the only issues are with the 98 perimeter valve covers. the 99+ center bolts are fine.

one of your problems is the dyno sucking drivetrain; big stall, gears, and a 12 bolt.

The .591 intake lift may be part of your problem. I know the 1.7s work fine on a ZO6. Pull the fuel pump fuse and crank it over just holding the valve covers by hand. You should feel and then see where they are hitting. Its best to grind clearance on the covers, but some have have ground clearance on the rockers themselves.
