best head? I have a 99 6.0 with iron heads and i'm putting a MS4 cam in it with stock internals otherwise. I would like to raise the compression to help out with the cam. I am wanting to put aluminum heads on it, but can't figure out which casting number would be best?
cool, well in that case, you can get assembled ls6 heads (casting "243") for about 600 bucks. If that's too much, later ls1 version heads (casting "241") are a little bit cheaper.
since you are going with the ms4, I would definitely go with the 243 heads if you can. Pretty sure you will have to flycut your pistons as well with that cam

5.3 heads will raise the comp, but I think stock for stock the ls6 heads flow better. You can always get the ls6 heads milled down a little bit if you want to boost compression.
