Should I replace oil pump during cam swap?

So, if I buy a blueprinted and ported ls6 oil pump and have a failure, I guarantee they won't pay for any damages so I can cross my fingers either way. BTW, the guy isn't an idiot. It sounds to me like GM has done a good job programming everyone to expect oil pump failure either way. Every engine has some weak point.

I know they say you DONT have to lift the motor off the K-member and lower the oil pan to get the pump out, but I have tried to just "loosen" the oil pan on 3 different camaros and I just can't seem to get enough room to get at the oil pump pick-up tube bolt.....so for me its required
