Clearances are so tight that small variances in the valvetrain or any valve float at all can cause the valves to hit the pistons. Be sure to check, it's recommended with that cam.

Does the 243 (LS6) heads give you more piston to valve clearance because I was always under the impression that it would have the same or a little less because with they have the extra compression they say they have but I don't know for sure but just assumed but I never checked or compared them.

nope, less room.. 243's have a smaller combustion chamber than 241's or 853's.

With stock valves and no milling it should be identical PtoV between LS1 and LS6 heads. Combustion chamber sizing doesn't dictate PtoV unless milled to achieve that size, LS6 heads have a different shape combustion chamber to gain compression over the LS1 heads.

Of the Vind. cams I've seen, the intake clearance was tight due to the +4 degree's advance and using a 240 duration lobe, if the camshaft was degree'd and installed retarded or at 0 advance, it could probably squeak by a little safer, but that also changes the camshaft characteristics somewhat. I'd probably just flycut to be safe.

What would be a safe margin to go with on PTV clearance??
