Question prc 2.5... now what cam?

I have a 3000 stalled 2002 a4 camaro. It is full bolt-ons. Was wondering which cam should i throw in there. I recently ordered prc 2.5 5.3 heads and cometic head gaskets. I told the guys at tsp to set it up for a big cam like the ms3. I was really thinking of going ms3. If i do what kind of power would i make with these heads. If not what would be a better choice?

for the ms3 i was told by texas speed that my vig 3200 is pushing it. knowing that a vig stalls higher i would say a 3000 stall would not be good.

Talking

I just want to get the most out of this setup right now because the next thing im going to do is driveline and then a built 370 with blower. I just cant stand being slow so i had to throw some budget heads cam on there. Dont worry about drivability... if its the least bit drivable ill drive it. I live for lumpy exhaust notes and great power.

The MS3 is a great choice for the PRC 2.5 5.3L heads. The same setup has gone 470+ to the tires on several cars without the need of valve reliefs or big compression. However, if you are going to go with the MS3, I would go back to the GM MLS head gasket. The converter is smaller than what I would like to see in the car but it can work if you aren't concerned about driveability. There are some smaller cams that would work as well and net you better driveability but if you are looking for a max effort setup, this combo is proven to be exactly that! Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to help with your setup!

How about a MS4? would there need to be any fly-cutting?

Yes. That is why you run a MS3 with those heads.

the MS3 might be too big for your 3k stall. i would look into there torquer v2 or there torquer v3 in that case.

Personally I would go quite a bit smaller than MS3, especially with that stall. 228r or search chrs1313 230/230 custom. Cam in sig makes 350+ torque from 3500-6300 so it would work well. A tr224 or 224r would be nice too.

EDIT. I don't think a MS3 will clear with .040 Cometics.
