Default ls1 vs ls6

i just aquired a 99 ta with a ls6 in it. i know it was like out of a 04 z06. i havnt drove it yet because of a clutch. i rode in my buddies 01 firebird with a ls1, a4 and a tune. ran pretty good. im just wondering how mine should feel with this combo being a 15k mi ls6, m6, bone stock in a 78k mi ta? of course it should run better than a stock ls1 ta im assuming. what is yalls thoughts?

the ls6 block has better oiling system than the ls1. It also has better flowing heads and a little bigger cam. The ls1 was rated at 325 hp and the ls6 is rated at 385.

You have a GREAT platform to start on. The engine you have has better crank windage control, more aggressive cam, sodium filled valves..the 243 heads with an LS6 intake...its bad ***.

I swapped an '03 LS6 into my car after I hydrolocked the LS1 and was really dissappointed when I drove it for the first time. It seemed to have less power in the lower revs. Even my first trip down the 1320 left me saying to myself "that sucked", until I got my timeslip......12.55@112 on Goodyear Eagles with nothing more than a mailorder tune and cat-back! It seems like the LS6 really wakes up on the top end.
