01-02 LS6 head differences?
What are the main differences between the 01 LS6 heads and the 02 LS6 heads from the factory?
I know the cams were different between the two years but I am can't remember if the heads are different.
Are the springs different? Valves etc? I know the 02's have sodium filled valves just curious about the 01's.
I know someone looking for a Z-06 that he is going to swap the cams out as soon as he gets the car. Just wondering if the heads were identical between the two years. If they are he'll pick up an 01 Z-06 and save some cash.
TIA!

the 02 and later heads have valves that are hollow sodium filled units that are .6MM shorter... springs are also different....i think the casting is the same, however.

also the casting is different the 01 is a sand cast (bright silver color) and the 02 is a lost foam process ( darker gray color) the casting is the same just the process and material is the difference
