crawl under car, remove circular looking inspection cover plate. take largest flathead screwdriver you have and jam it in there between the flywheel and tranny while your helper breaks the bolt loose. it will take some time to get the right position but it will work. trust me i did it 1 day ago.

p.s the inspection cover plate is really thin and has 3 little tabs holding it in. it is on the bellhousing facing down you cant miss it. just pry it out and you will see the flywheel

yeah the impact is what we eventually used to install it once we whacked it on enough to catch a couple threads. much easier than wrenching it on.

I believe its the kent moore just mentioned.drops the starter install the tool.mesh with the flywheel teeth and locks it in place.other ways mentioned above would work also.

Whoa, I'd never ever install it with an impact, I was talking about using an impact to break the bolt loose.

i wasn't impressed with the kent moore's price tag but i will admit it worked perfect and the motor wouldnt budge. if you can swing it i say go that route.

I bought a holding tool from an LS1Tech member a few years ago. He made it himself. It worked great.
