They say the 224 can pass ok. but a good tune with most mild and mid range cam will be able to pass the sniffer test. Maybe to 228.... I am sure that many will say they have with larger ones..

just get a good tuner.. and that 220 will be just fine..

I know that "they say" a 224 will pass with a good tune. I am looking some guys that have passed. I really want run the AFR 6016 224/225-.581/.588.

So long as the overlap is negative the cam will pass. The more negative the overlap the better. The largest cam with zero/negative overlap is the 228 on a 114 (0 degrees of overlap). I had a customer pass with this cam and a typical tune (no special tuning tricks needed, just an honest tune and healthy cats). The AFR cam you posted will easily pass CA smog when tuned. I have had several customers with 224 cams on a 112 pass smog, with cats mind you.

Wow! That sounds great, thanks. Also you say that you have had several customers pass? Do you have a shop? I am local, L.A. area.
