Default quench height

Looking for thoughts on quench height for my pump gas (92 octane) iron 370ci. It's got forged scat i-beams, pistons are .012" above deck. Static compression will be between 11.5:1-12.0:1 and will see 7000+ rpm. With a .050" Cometic I'd end up with .038" quench which is what I usually run on my sbc's with great results. Should I go any tighter than that? Is it worth having a custom gasket made to get down to .035"?.....or even tighter? What's the recommended minimum?

.038 should be good. You probably wouldn't even notice a difference going to .035, unless the pistons hit...
