ok im getn confused now. i chose the 5.3s first i wanted them for more low end torque but i was told that the ms3 and 4 where suposed to be the best for 5.3s. im going on hear say. but i guess you are saying that ls6s would be the better choice. i havent bought either cam or heads yet. was about to last night but saw this first.
thats what i got!

ms4 seems a little much imo auto cars work better with a lil smaller cam. but there are some bad *** cars that run ms4s. will the rest of your car be set up to handle a high RPM launch?

5.3 heads will work fine, if you do it right. The heads need to be fully ported by someone who knows what they are doing.
The compression needs to go up, way up. Think 11.5:1 minimum. The MS4 will want alot more RPM than the LS6 or BBK intake can handle, so you're looking towards a FAST 90/92mm intake, preferrably ported. That cam also wants a healthy exhaust. An ORY and cutout is restrictive, look to a dual setup.
Finally, gear it up (3.73 and 4000 stall for autos minimum, or 4.10 for manual trans, ideally a 4.30) and shift it around 7000RPM.
Failure to meet any of those requirements means you've got too much cam.

i believe a ms4 cam or ms3 is almst to much for a stock commpression engine, people make them work awsome but for a street car that dont have a huge stall they are to much.

it was designed for max effort setups... whether it be on the strip or on the street.. people that know how to build setup make rediculous numbers and get amazing track times with this cam... people that dont pair it with an ls6 intake 373s 3500 stall stock heads..
