I ve been running it for 6 months it pulls hard. shoulda went bigger. Do the 112 LSA its fairly smooth after start up...wish it was choppier. 228R on a 112 great for the DD. Id go one bigger than what your thinking.. I went 228 because I was thinking 224 and still should went with a torquer or something but im not dissapointed just hind-sights 20/20. Tho Im sure with a set of heads it will be a world of difference...im just not there yet.

I like my 228 cam on a 112. My only complaint is it hits like a freight train at 3500rpms and pulls hard right up to the limiter at 6700 rpm. I wish it wasn't as peaky. I went with some 4.10's and they really complimented the cam too. I am adding a fast90 and some afr's this spring (ls6 intake and ported stock TB right now) but I don't think it will change the cam much, just add some more power/tq all over the curve. With a proper tune this cam makes a great daily driver IMO.

7.40 but my motor isn't yours. Best advise is buy a pushrod length checker or find a buddy with one. If you are on stock heads a 7.40 should work but the key word is "should". I can't put anything together if someone on the internet says the word "should". Thats why I suggest a pushrod length checker

the 228r carried my truck with LS1 down the track to a 12.66 with a 1.73 60' and a mail order tune. other mods were ls6 intake, p&p TB, underdrive pulley, lt's, 3800 stall, 4.10's, CAI

Def go with the 228R on a 112. I was recommended by comp to go 7.425 due to the cam being a slighly smaller bore or w/e than stock cam and the valvetrain is slightly quieter than most with 7.4

We've done 228R installs replacing the 224 camshaft & seen 7rwhp gain. For the durations we're talking I'd take the 228R over the 224 duration camshafts without a doubt. The 228R drives just about identical to the 224 camshafts & made more power starting at a very early rpm.
