I have a pic of mine where I drilled for it.

Here is the bare block..

And here is a pic where you can see where I had to Drill & Tap the flange on the Drivers Side of the Block to mount the Alternator Bracket.

There's a 5.3L aluminum block as well correct? Would I have to drill that one as well?

Apparently not. I found some pictures of the front of the block on Ebay and it apears they are already drilled. From what I have found its a gen 4 platform There are a few differences from gen 3 to gen 4 plate form. Mechanicals are basically the same. how ever the moved some of the sensors around on. the knock sensors went from the top to the side of the block. I believe the cam sensor went from the top back to the front of the timing chain cover. ant I think they went from a 24x to a 48x reluctor wheel on the crank. Its basicaly a small bore LS2 motor

You can still run this engine with your wiring harness and computer but you will need a few extension harnesses sold through one of our sponsers. and for the cranks sensor you need a step down box. I believe LPE is the only one who makes that.

Yea, that is a Gen IV Block, mine is still a Gen III, that is why I had to do it.
