Sounds about right. The 3.73's and heavy wheels are costing you some power....

the heavy wheels where not on the car the dyno was done by the pre owner so I dont know if the cutouts where open the dyno was a Dynojet 424x and the a/f ratio is around 13.1 to 1 the first run was only 284hp at around 13.9 to one then he richened it up and it ran a 297 Could it be the high temp of the dyno run 88 degrees?

My a4 car made 330 with pacesetter long tubes, LM1 catback and texasspeed catted y pipe and slp lid. If I were you I would ditch the K&N FIPK kit and get a lid. That would probably be worth a few horse power and then get a better catback or open the cutout.

That does seem a tad off, even with the gears, but I would not put much stock in dyno numbers, there is too much variance. I got caught up in the dyno craze when I had my 03 cobra . I have yet to visit the dyno with this car, instead I just go to the track to see if my ETs are better with new parts As for tuning, I had the car road tuned by local guy, it would probably be beneficial at this point to eventually head over to dyno to make final adjustments to the tune.

I have a 99 firehawk with dyno'd with 103k miles. It put out 303rwhp and 328rwtq. That was completely stock M6.

Edit:
And it was around 100 degrees that day.

i still think you are about right when you consider your only mods are the FIPK and cutout. The cut out won't help all that much on factory manis and the 373's prolly negated what you picked up there. A4's usually dyno 290-310 stock so you are right there. Don't sweat it your in the right ballpark IMHO

^^^subtract 10hp for his M6 and he's right there with you!!!

I wouldn't get to hung up on dyno numbers. Dyno = tuning tool. Take it to the track and see what kind of times you can get with it. Mid to low 13's is what I would expect.

also I believe the gears where not installed when they dynoed the car

That is a little low...

I made 313rwhp and 328tq with only an SLP Loud Mouth cat-back... IT was late spring, so it must have been about 75F in the place whent he car was dyno'd

How many miles on the car? I know some '01s had piston ring issues. Maybe your motor is leaking down?

How high did you winde the engine up to 5,900? I made max power on a stock LS1 at 6,500 rpms. If you are cutting it short then your dyno numbers will be lower.

I only dynoed at 300 RWHP, and my tuner did it with the converter unlocked, so that would make a difference. I still do mid 12's in the 1/4, so I'd be more concerned with your times than your dyno numbers.

The dyno sheet says sae 1.02 Ive heard the sae hp is lower then the other kinds of dyno ratings could that play a role im also does the 1.02 mean its corrected hp?
