Default Pulled Vally Cover...What are these two holes?

I pulled my vally cover tonight while everything is apart, because I'm cleaning everything up, and noticed these two holes, they are filled to the top with oil and a thick like gunk, and I just wondered what they were for, where they go, and or if I should clean them out?

Those two holes bottom out about 1 1/2 inches down. They serve no purpose.

I'm assuming you're grinding that tab for the LS6 valley conversion. Doing it with a dremel is going to take you forever. If you don't have access to an air compressor I would go get a metal file bit from Home Depot or something and use it on a drill. It will take that tab out a lot quicker.

Even with a 20,000 rpm die grinder, it takes me about 20 min to clear that tab enough for the LS6 valley to fit. FWIW.

No lol, i just powdercoated my valley cover, cause with my Victor JR intake it leaves it all exposed, and it looked like ****. Just wondered about the gunk in the holes while it was off.
