Default Smokin bad after heads/cam install

Well, to make a long story short, a friend of mine did my cam and heads swap, did a number of things to the car, I did this all about a month ago and just now got to drive it on a regular basis, cause my license was suspended. After I really get on it, and let it rev down black dust or smoke pours out of the pipes, and i can almost smell oil burning......anyone got any idea what this may be?

If its oil burning the smoke will be blue, black smoke is from runnin to rich.

Yeah, sounds like fuel smoke, you might put it back on the dyno and get a better look at it though. BTW nice dyno numbers

Morgan, I called ya earlier tonight man. Ill be leaving town again in the morning, but give me a call if you get time. You are probably running pretty rich since we put the catback on the car. black is definately fuel. FWIW, without cats a lil smoke is normal on decel. Another thing to consider is when was the last time you got on it HARD, ya may just be blowing out some carbon from driving like an old man for the past month

What heads did you use? Were they ported so much that they cut into the rocker arm boss's. If so, your buddy didn't seal the rocker arm bolts. I have seen this EXACT scenario time after time. It won't burn the oil when you rev it but it smokes wen you let off. This is because when you let off the vacuum in the intake is at its highest and the oil gets sucked down past the bolts. Pull the plugs and I'll bet they are balck and a little sooty fromthe oil.

Rocker bolt bosses were sealed with silicone. I'll have to agree with Cammin's reply regarding driving it easy. My now stock car blows black carbon and smoke like a bitch when I get on it after driving it easy.
