vin number question

Default vin number question

im about to buy a camaro, on autotrader it says its a z28. but in the pictures it has the ss badges and spoiler. is there a certain letter that prooves its a z28 or ss engine?

Both the same engine as stated above. There isn't a digit in the VIN that tells you if it's an SS or Z28, the RPO codes on the door do.

just wonder because arent the heads better on the ss... i guess it doesnt really matter because i plan on doing ported l92 heads and a magic stick 4 cam.

An lS1 is an LS1 and l92 heads don't fit an LS1.

Open the driver's door and look on the Rpo code list it should say "WU8" or post the vin and ill tell you

BTW L92 4" bore or bigger, heads are the same between the z28 and ss, and pick a cam based on your goals.

i will grab the vin real quick.

as for the cam, i want to get into the 11s with cam/heads and bolt ons. i have a nitrous kit if i really want to spray it. i would like a cam that owns on highway pulls. and planning on taking it out to the mile races.

Hey trav00ws6 i just ran your vin # it is an SS it has the WU8 option code in the Rpo list, 98 right?

Sorry i meant 99, the 10th digit is an X which equals 99

The 10th digit of the VIN is X so it's a 99.
