Default 99 LS1 Push Rod Question

I have a 99 Z28, swapping to a LS6 Cam shaft and Springs.

Since I am swapping heads as well - I figured upgrading the pushrods would be nice since I am going FI.

My question is - What size pushrods would I need? It looks like both LS1 and LS6 require the 7.400" Pushrods. Can anyone confirm? And also what width would I need? I saw 5/16" and I think 3/8".. Thanks!

As long as your heads are not milled you should be able to use the 7.400" length, and 5/16" is the correct width for the LS1s.

I believe that the base circle on the LS6 cam is slightly smaller compared to the LS1 cam. Might want to investigate further. 7.425" might be your better choice, as it will likely reduce the valvetrain noise. Check before you order.

Yes the Base circle of the Ls6 cam is smaller so you should need a LONGER pushrod!

So the best choice is in fact 7.425"?

Just wanted to get more feedback before I order.
Thanks

Yeah. And as always, you should use an adjustable pushrod to verify the valve train geometry, don't guess.

agreed, i think most are the same. 7.4s tend to be a bit noisier and 7.425s seem to be quieter from what i have read.
