Default Need a n/a 10 second cam?????

Needs advise ---- n-a 10 second cam -- full weight -- whatever size
converter needed and gear --- -- going to be a nitrous motor --stock short block

You're asking for a n/a cam for a n2o motor? Or are you looking for a n2o cam that will do 10's n/a? Either way, more details on your combo are needed to pick a cam, ultimate goals, etc.

full weight n/a cam only 10s











I guess anythings possible....

most people with a full weight car shoot for 11s....but id say somthing like a trex with a sheetmetal intake,17/8headers 18" extensions off headers,th350 with a brake and 8" verter,and a 12 bolt with some 456s...go look at the cam only list its kinda hard to do full weight with no ower adder...

well thats a little different i only read the 1st post....i still say you need a really good setup and good track conditions...just call up a sponsor and have them custom spec you a cam...

He didn't say cam only, he said that the car will have ET heads...

I'd say something along the lines of 236+/242+ 610+/610+ 114 lsa

There are a few off the shelf cams that look something like that. Your car will pretty much have to be a stalled automatic as well.

Your going to need atleast an MS3 at the smallest like PowerShift408 said. At full weight and 10's N/A is no easy task but possible in the right conditions. The plus side though is the MS3, MS4, and Trex cams LOVE N2O. As for stall and gear I will let someone with a better knowledge of that give recommendations for that. Buddy of mine went 10.7 with a Vindicator and way ported LS6 heads through a rediculous stall. Stock motor and spun the hell out of that damn thing. Can't recall what gear it had but it was 3.90s thinking about it.

There's no such thing as a 10 second cam..

There is however, a such thing as a 10 second CAR...

Takes a lot more than a fancy camshaft to make a car run 10's. Suspension, weight, tires, gearing, driving, weather, traction, etc etc etc....

Sorry I wasn't trying to say use a off the shelf cam. Just something big or a max effort cam... something along those lines that pushes PTV clearance and makes as much power as possible. Not saying getting one of those cams but something of that magnatude that all. Along with a ported FAST 92, everything max effort for a full race weight car. And the key is a great tuner... along with what Damian said
