Failures of stock lifters??

Failures of stock lifters?? Just wondering about any history of failures of stock lifters. We had a problem while pulling a motor on the dyno the other day and it sounds like a lifter let loose. I am taking the head off tomorrow but was looking for a little insist from anyone that has had issues. I have found the stock lifters to typically be VERY reliable and never had had a problem with modified motors.

Re: Failures of stock lifters?? In what year car? I was told that there is a difference in years, something like the support is weaker with the new ones?? I really cant think of much more than that... I was talking with Colonel, im sure he remembers

Re: Failures of stock lifters?? The car in questionn is an 02' C5. I have heard a few instances where the pin that holds the roller wheel on has broken or fallen out.

Re: Failures of stock lifters?? I lost a couple of lifters. 50K miles on the stockers. I was running a 230/230 112LSA XE-R cam with them but threw in Comp R lifters afterwards.
If you have the heads off swap out the stockers IMO. Especially with any sort of double spring and aggressive lobe.

Re: Failures of stock lifters?? I changed mine due to a mechanical over-rev because valves, pushrods, and lifter were damaged. I raced with this damage and picked up 2mph in the quarter-mile after the repair. If I did a cam change, I wouldn't use the stock lifters.
