Talking head porters in here please

i'm hoping that i can get some experienced opinions on my new heads. these are cnc'd 806's and i'm looking for any info on weather or not to do any additional work to them before i throw them on. i'm thinking of trying to get somebody to blend the chambers being as the side by the exhaust wasn't touched by the cnc. i would also like to get a safe bet on how much to mill them with my current cam which is 230/224 575/563 on 110lsa. thanks for any help or advice

i would leave them alone,The only thing you may want to do is polish the chambers,or at least hit them with some 400 grit paper just to take away any sharp edges or burrs left from machining.Just dont get carried away with it.This will help reduce any unwanted detonation.

what should i be using to polish the chambers? i have a dremel but i don't know what abrasive to use. i think i'm gonna go with a stock valve setup so i can mill for compression i hope. does anybody know what the clearance on the 230/224 is with stock heads unmilled? also would i be better off switching to a custom cam matched to the heads or stay with what i've got. i saw that 1 member on here has 230/224 with ported heads that went 10.9's with some weight out

I would say a VJ would be in quick order! Why didn't the CNC guy fix that up for you?

i don't know. they were bought from a very reputable shop though. i'm leaning towards putting them on as is

i had them looked at by a local shop that does some nice head work. he said he would do some hand blending in the chambers but that they were very nice as is. he thought he might be able to squeeze a couple more hp out but felt they would be good as is so i'm not sure what to do. i don't want to mess up a nice set of heads

If airflowdevelop says they need a VJ, you need a VJ unless your reputable shop is Foltz.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing!! I have a brand new set of patriot 2 heads that have those ribs cut in from the CNC porting...I have some professional dentist dremel bits, these will polish the ports to a mirror finish with just a couple of passes! So since I'm installing 2.05s/1.6s for better flow it may be the time to fully polish!
