Default Head Gasket Thickness?

I am about to buy some head gaskets to put my car back together and was looking for some opinions on the head gasket thickness. My heads are 241's milled .030, 2.02/1.57 valves, and the cam specs are 224/230 0.581/0.591 112.

Should I even bother trying to go with a thinner head gasket than .051"? I do plan on checking the ptv clearance when assembling it, I am just trying to make the process less painful. If most dont think I will have the clearance, then I wont even bother buying anything thinner than .051" to avoid having to buy another set.

Thanks,
AJ

Default

I ran a 224/228, 581/588 with .040 gaskets and my 241 heads were milled .035, with stock valves. I didn't have any problems with ptv clearance, but it always a good idea to check the clearance. I used a 7.350 pushrod.
