How big & how much HP!!
I would like to know how many CU's you can make with an LSX block. I am ready to buy a '98 TA. I want to build a naturally aspirated 650+ RWHP TA to drive on the street. Is this possible or what?

You need to be more specific with your question. Which LSX block are you starting with? LS1 can be stroked to 383 or 396 max, anymore and you would have to bore it about 40X c.i. safely. LS2 can be stroked safely to 408, anymore and you need to bore it about 41X c.i. safely. You can also buy 418 CI and 454 CI LSX assembled short and long blocks from the vendors to your ------->
Plan on having a RADICAL solid roller cam on that thing, and a very good flowing set of heads. Enjoy your frequent valve train check/adjustments on a solid roller setup. Good luck with your N/A 650 RWHP, that's a costly and radical route.

I do not have a block yet. Answers to this thread will help me decide what block to go with. I would like between 410-430 cu. Sounds like 650hp is a bit excessive. I suppose 575-600 would be a better goal? My pockets are not endless, especially with kid #3 on the way!! I plan on doing this build over a couple of years and buying pieces here and there. Thanks for the input.
